Located in Akron, Ohio Springfield Baptist Church has several programs for members to participate in.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our men’s ministry meets monthly for dinners, discussions and fellowship.

Women’s circles meet monthly to socialize as well as to provide Christian support and fellowship for our adult members of all ages. Our circles plan luncheons and programs, as well as organizing outreach activities.

Our senior adults and retirees organize regular outings and gatherings to enjoy fellowship and the community.

Our monthly concerts are free and always feature uplifting music presented by Gospel singers and composers. These concerts are open to anyone in the community who would like to enjoy an evening of music and fellowship.

AB Girls

Just for girls, this group brings first- through sixth-graders together to build faith and leadership skills through discussion, support and service work in the community.

Beautiful music during our Sunday services is provided by our choir, which meets weekly to practice and perfect their offerings. Membership is open to anyone who would like to lift their voice in song to praise God.

Nursery / Beginners

We provide loving nursery care as well as Christian education for our youngest members.

Adult Bible Study

These adult bible studies are currently meeting during our Sunday School times.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes are available for all ages from nursery through adult. Content includes bible studies as well as discussions of current Christian issues.

Wednesday Night Youth

Our youth groups meet during the school year and are broken into age groups so that all of our youth find a lively and loving place to learn, grow, and develop Christian relationships.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is the perfect time for our youth to come together for activities that are open to any community youth. Our program is three evenings of games and fun activities geared to ages 7 through 17.

A group felt the leading of God to begin a new church in 1918 in a little red school house on Massillon Road with nine charter members. Eventually it was named the East Akron Terrace Baptist Church in 1924. A building for worship was begun in 1925 at the corner of Triplett and Seiberling, but when the City of Akron announced plans for an airport, a new location on Triplett at South Arlington was purchased. The name of the church was changed to Thomastown Baptist Church and the first meeting was held on November 17, 1929. The church demonstrated remarkable growth over the years and eventually outgrew the available facilities.

In 1961, seven acres were purchased at the present location on Krumroy Road.

The beautiful building we now occupy was dedicated on October 13, 1963. We anticipate God’s gratious hand of blessing upon our church for many, many years to come.
